The Giallorossi have settled on a potential loan deal for the 22-year-old with an option to make the move permanent for €17 million after officials flew from the Italian capital to hold talks with the Blues.
Garcia, however, refused to be drawn on whether the move was yet finalised and has urged his players to make Sunday's encounter with Vincenzo Montella's side their sole focus.
"Salah? I'm not going to talk about the transfer market. There's just one thought on my mind today: Fiorentina," he told a press conference.
"I like playing Fiorentina. It was good to see my men showing enthusiasm and desire in training.
"I have faith in my players. Fiorentina are a great team but we'll still go there wanting three points. There's an amazing sense of unity at this club. That's what makes us so strong: we're all ambitious.
"The players are really up for tomorrow's [Sunday's] game. We want to go out there and show everyone who we are."
Roma have come in for criticism for their recent form, with two draws against Lazio and Palermo followed by a narrow extra-time win over Empoli in the Coppa Italia.
Garcia, however, maintains his side are on course to compete with Juventus for the Scudetto - but is adamant they must not become distracted with thoughts of the clash with the Serie A leaders on March 2.
"Criticism is fine as long as it's objective. Points-wise, this is the second-best Roma team of all time," he continued.
"I don't want to talk about the Juve match - it is not the next one. I want my guys focused on nothing but this game.
"We came from two down to draw in the derby, from one down against Palermo: there is no mental problem."
