Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, (APC), Gen Muhammadu Buhari lamented that the independence of Independen Electoral Commission, INEC has been “gravely compromised” by the postponement of February elections by six weeks, the presidential candidate of the main opposition party said on Sunday.
“Although INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission) acted within its constitutional powers, it is clear that it has been boxed into a situation where it has had to bow to pressure. Thus, the independence of INEC has been gravely compromised,” Muhammadu Buhari told a news conference in Abuja.
On Saturday the electoral agency pushed back presidential and parliamentary elections from February 14 to March 28, citing security fears
